New Submission-Period Start Time

Teams, we hope you are enjoying building your computational machinery to settle the Milky Way.

We are pushing the start of the submission period to Tuesday 21 May, 8pm UTC. That epoch will be the value of "t_start" in the Bonus function, B.

Are submissions just for output verification allowed before (without official scoring)?
Is manual verification of solutions sent by mail performed until then?
The proposed way to verify our implementation of the merit function is the submission system, and we need
a correct merit function for our search. Lets hope the server is strong enough to handle all the submissions which are ready until May 21 at once.

The new submission period start time also applies to by-mail submissions. We trust that our servers will serve the submission onslaught - we will keep an eye on them; hopefully we can deal with any glitches. Once the submissions go live, I think the solution verification process will be suitable for verifying teams' merit function implementation.

As I remember Tsinghua had a quite reasonable solution after 2 days during GTOC9. But perhaps we get only a limited "submission onslaught", even we at Jena have no submission ready yet. Quite an interesting task, congratulations Anastassios! In the last two days I learned more about our "home" inside Milky Way than during my whole life before.

Thank you Dietmar, and thank you for your patience. Congratulations to Team Jena and to the other teams participating in back-to-back TOCs with so much enthusiasm!
